Wild and Crazy Dye Day!

It was chaotic, disorganized, messy. And totally fun. Peyton's enormous basement was plenty big for 5 or so dyepots and 15 or so creative fiber artists. We had a few glitches (circuit breakers overloaded by all the hot plates), but things got figured out. We painted roving, dip dyed yarn, immersed silk shawls, and obsessed about color. Dyeing is always amazingly unpredictable, and the results always beautiful. The dyes exhausted and so did we!

Mucho thanks to Peyton and the gang for whirling about effectively to make sure everyone got a chance to make some crazy color.
Kerry (photo left) rinses some of her gorgeous Shetland (or was this superwash Merino?) roving (right).

Brooke and Allie (below) collapse on the sofa to knit for a minute after a dyeing frenzy.
